Good news for Samsung fans! The company just opened sign-ups for its One UI 8 beta, the next big software upgrade based on Android 16. But before you get too excited, check if your phone makes the cut.

Which Phones Get the One UI 8 Beta?

Right now, only three models qualify:

  • Galaxy S25
  • Galaxy S25+
  • Galaxy S25 Ultra

Sorry, S25 Edge users—Samsung didn’t include your phone this time. Maybe it’s because of the battery life complaints? Either way, if you have an older Galaxy phone, you’ll have to wait.

Last year, the One UI 7 beta started with just the S24 series, then slowly reached other phones. Samsung says One UI 8 will come to foldables (like the Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6) later this summer, followed by more Galaxy devices.

What’s New?

Samsung is focusing on smarter AI and smoother features. Here’s what’s changing:

Better AI That Understands You

The phone will learn your habits and give personalized suggestions.

It can now understand context—like if you’re watching a video or checking your schedule—and respond naturally.

A Fresh Look for Tablets & Foldables

Samsung is tweaking the interface to work better on big screens (just like Google did with Android 16).

Quick Share Just Got Quicker

Sending files between Galaxy devices? Now it’s one-tap fast.

Reminders Get Smarter

Add categories to your to-do lists.

Share lists with friends.

Set reminders just by speaking.

Auracast Made Easier

Now you can connect to shared audio (like multiple Galaxy Buds) by scanning a QR code—no more complicated setups.

How to Join the Beta

If you have an S25, S25+, or S25 Ultra, here’s how to get early access:

Open the Samsung Members app.

Look for the “One UI Beta Program” banner.

Tap Register and follow the steps.

That’s it! You’ll be among the first to test the new features. Just remember—beta software can have bugs, so don’t install it on your main phone if you need 100% stability.

When Will Everyone Else Get It?

If you don’t have an S25, don’t worry. Samsung usually rolls out big updates 3-6 months after the beta. Foldables and older Galaxy phones (like the S24, Z Fold 5, and A-series) should get it later this year.

So, will you be trying the One UI 8 beta? Or waiting for the official release? Let us know!
