Supercharged Productivity & Smarter Multitasking
Samsung just dropped the full changelog for One UI 8 beta, and Galaxy users are in for a treat. First, Quick Share gets a major upgrade – now you can send files directly from the quick settings panel while keeping the receiver screen open simultaneously. Next, the My Files app introduces smart filtering, letting you sort downloads by their source app, saving those frustrating hunts for documents.
Meanwhile, Samsung Internet gets a streamlined menu layout that you can customize, while AI Select becomes instant-access – no more waiting before highlighting screen content. For power users, DeX now supports WQHD resolution on external displays and 270-degree rotation. Plus, split-screen multitasking gets smarter: push one app to the edge to keep it visible but minimized, then tap to instantly swap focus between apps.
Health, Reminders & Security – All Smarter
The Reminder app undergoes its biggest redesign yet. Now you’ll see categorized reminders at a glance, with expandable sections and ready-made templates for common tasks. Better yet, type partial reminders to get smart suggestions, or use voice input when hands-free. Calendar integration goes deeper too – create reminders directly within the app and drag-drop them to reschedule visually.
For fitness fans, Samsung Health adds running distance challenges (race friends to 50km!) and food logging reminders to hit calorie goals. Security gets serious with Secure Folder’s new stealth mode – completely hide sensitive apps and encrypt the folder when locked.
Camera shortcuts become more accessible with swipe-up/down gestures anywhere on screen. Communication upgrades include editable profile cards that recipients see during calls, while recorded calls now appear in contact histories. Accessibility sees multiple improvements too: zoom with Assistant Menu buttons, control mouse pointers via keyboard, magnify on-screen keyboards, and simplified Bluetooth hearing aid pairing.
The update brings cutting-edge audio sharing through QR-scan Auracast connections, while Weather app visuals become hyper-realistic. Alarm groups gain widget support for one-tap activation of multiple alarms.
With these 20+ enhancements, One UI 8 builds on Samsung’s reputation for thoughtful innovation. The beta’s current limited release suggests a stable version could arrive before year-end, giving Galaxy users plenty to look forward to. Early testers report noticeably smoother performance alongside these quality-of-life upgrades that make everyday phone use more intuitive.
From productivity power users to health-conscious individuals, these features demonstrate Samsung’s commitment to meaningful software evolution. As Android 16-based One UI 8 continues testing, its final release may well set a new benchmark for what smartphone interfaces can achieve.
