What Can Copilot Vision Do?
Microsoft just launched a free AI feature called Copilot Vision in its Edge browser. Now, the AI assistant can analyze what’s on your screen and respond to voice commands. Mustafa Suleyman, CEO of Microsoft AI, announced this update, calling it a “talk-based experience.”
For example, you can ask Copilot to guide you through a cooking recipe or explain a job posting. It may even highlight parts of your screen to help you find information faster. However, it won’t click buttons or navigate for you—it only gives suggestions. Currently, this feature works only in Edge, but paid Copilot Pro users get extra perks, like AI help in Photoshop or Minecraft.
How to Try It (If It Works)
To use Copilot Vision, open Microsoft’s website in Edge and opt into the feature. Next, click the microphone icon in the Copilot sidebar to start a session. A chime and a color shift in your browser will confirm it’s active.
But be warned—testing this feature can be glitchy. Some users report delays or missing controls. In one case, the screen just showed a floating “One moment…” message. Performance may vary depending on your device.
Microsoft claims it logs Copilot’s responses but doesn’t save your screen content. When done, simply end the session or close the browser. While handy, remember: letting AI “see” your screen raises privacy questions—so use it wisely.
