Google updated its Search Console to count visits from its AI search tool. Now, your website reports will include traffic from people using Google’s AI features.

When someone clicks your link in AI search, it counts like a normal search click. The numbers appear in your regular reports—Google didn’t create a separate section for AI traffic. You might see small changes in your total visits because of this.

How AI Search Works

Google’s AI search splits questions into parts to find better answers. It shows websites next to AI responses. If someone clicks your site from these AI results, it will show in your reports.

What This Means for You

No extra setup needed (same as normal search)

Your existing settings still control how your site appears

Follow-up questions count as new searches

Google says AI search clicks may lead to longer visits. But since all traffic is mixed together, you can’t track AI visits separately.

What to Do

Keep creating good content like before. Google’s AI still uses regular website links, so basic SEO matters. Just know some of your traffic now comes from AI search.

This update helps show your full website performance as Google adds more AI tools. Check your SearchConsole reports to see if anything looks different.
