On July 31, 2025, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader, said Andhra Pradesh is like under an “undeclared emergency.” He accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and his Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government of using police to make fake cases against YSRCP leaders to silence them. Speaking in Tadepalli after visiting Prasanna Kumar Reddy’s family, whose house was attacked, Jagan said Naidu is scared of YSRCP’s strength and is attacking opponents to hide his failure to keep election promises. An X post from @YSRCParty said, “Jagan Mohan Reddy slams Naidu’s fake cases and attacks on opposition!”

Naidu using police to attack rivals? That’s a serious charge!

Attacks and Fake Cases

Jagan said Naidu’s government is acting like a bully, sending armed mobs to attack YSRCP leaders’ homes, like Prasanna Kumar Reddy’s, where his mother was present. He also met Kakani Govardhan Reddy in Nellore jail, who’s been locked up for 64 days with 14 cases, including one about illegal quartz mining that Jagan claims is fake because no mining happened there for years. Other YSRCP leaders like PV Mithun Reddy, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, and Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy face similar false cases, Jagan said, some linked to personal grudges, like a college fight between Naidu and Mithun’s father. He also pointed to a case where a TDP worker was made a witness instead of an accused, showing bias.

Houses attacked and leaders jailed? That sounds so unfair!

Police and Corruption Claims

Jagan accused the police of acting like Naidu’s “collection agents,” taking bribes from illegal sand, liquor, and gambling businesses and sharing the money with TDP leaders from top to bottom. He said sand prices are sky-high despite Naidu’s “free sand” promise, and liquor is sold above normal prices. Jagan also claimed Naidu is giving away valuable land to his friends for cheap, like the RTC land deal in Vijayawada. He warned that all corrupt people, no matter who they are, will face justice when YSRCP returns to power.

Police helping with bribes? That’s a huge problem!

People Are Unhappy

Jagan said everyone in Andhra is upset with Naidu’s government. Students haven’t gotten school fee payments for six quarters, farmers aren’t getting fair prices for their crops, and poor people can’t access good healthcare because Aarogyasri funds aren’t cleared. He also criticized TDP leaders for using bad words against YSRCP women leaders like RK Roja and attacking ZP Chairperson Harika. Jagan asked, “If we fight back the same way, what happens to democracy?” He said Naidu’s tactics, like digging roads to stop YSRCP supporters from meeting him, show fear of the opposition’s popularity.

No money for students or farmers? People must be so mad!
