On June 28, 2025, in Berlin, China’s women’s hockey team beat India 3-0 in the FIH Pro League. This loss was tough and puts India in danger of getting kicked out of the tournament. India tried hard but couldn’t score, even missing a big shot when Deepika hit the post in the last part of the game.

Yang Chen scored in the 21st minute from a penalty corner, and India’s goalie Savita couldn’t stop it. Five minutes later, Ying Zhang scored another penalty corner goal, making it 2-0. India’s defense messed up, letting the ball go through Jyoti Singh’s legs. In the third part, Anhui Yu scored a nice goal from the field, and India couldn’t come back.
Ouch, those penalty corners really got India. China was so good, and India couldn’t keep up. That must feel rough.
How It Started
India started okay, getting a penalty corner in the 4th minute, but they didn’t score. China, who got silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics, took over later. Their first goal came from Yang, and they kept pushing. India tried their best in the third part, attacking for almost 14 minutes, but they couldn’t score. China’s fast attack made it 3-0.
It’s cool that India tried early, but missing that shot hurt. China was just too strong today.
Where They Are Now
China’s win keeps them in fourth place in the FIH Pro League, while India is stuck in last place—ninth out of nine teams. India got bronze at the 2022 Asian Games, but they’re having a hard time now. They need to beat China in their next game on June 29 to stay in the tournament. If Germany beats England, it might help India a little too.

Why This Feels Bad
