Heavy floods suddenly hit Rasuwa district in Nepal early Tuesday morning. Now, 18 people cannot be found. Reports say three police officers, nine locals, and six Chinese citizens are among the missing. The floods caused major destruction near the border between Nepal and China.

Arjun Paudel, a local official in Rasuwa, said the flood destroyed the Nepal-China Friendship Bridge. It also swept away many electric vehicles parked at a nearby port. Some people may have been inside the vehicles when the flood came, but officials are still checking.

Rescue teams have already saved many people, including police and other workers. They acted fast to pull people from danger and take them to safe places.

Nepal’s Prime Minister, KP Sharma Oli, posted a message online. He said the government is working hard to rescue and support flood victims. The flood hit the Trishuli River area (called Bhotekoshi River upstream) and caused severe damage. Some people have died, and many are still missing. The flood also destroyed a lot of property.

Oli shared his sadness for families who lost loved ones. He said he is worried about everyone affected. He is getting regular updates from security teams and has stopped all unimportant meetings to focus on rescue work. He told officials to act quickly and not delay help.

The Home Ministry has called an urgent meeting to handle the disaster. A special meeting with Nepal’s Central Security Committee and disaster management teams will decide next steps. The flood has badly damaged Rasuwa district, and the government is doing its best to control the crisis.
