On July 13, 2025, 105 areas in Gujarat, called talukas, got a lot of rain in just one day. Some places had super heavy showers, especially at night. Banaskantha got hit hard, with Palanpur getting 2 inches of rain from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m., making streets full of water. Dantiwada, also in Banaskantha, got 2 inches too. In Bhavnagar, Umarala and Palitana each had 3 inches, which helped water underground. In Gir Somnath, Una got 2.5 inches, and places like Dhangadhra, Gadhada, and Babra got 2 inches each. Many other areas got at least 1 inch.Gujarat Record Rainfall

Wow, so much rain! It’s wild that streets in Palanpur turned into rivers so fast!

Where It Rained a Lot

From 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, 86 talukas got rain. The biggest amounts were:

  • Dhrangadhra: almost 2 inches

  • Palitana: 1.85 inches

  • Umarpada: 1.22 inches

  • Barwala and Dediapada: 1.1 inches each

  • Sagbara: 1 inch

The State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) said 101 talukas got rain in 24 hours, with Talod in Sabarkantha getting 2 inches. Nine areas had over 1 inch, and 79 had lighter rain. An X post from @WesternIndiaWX said Dantiwada got 6.3 inches, showing how heavy it was in some spots.

6.3 inches in one place? That’s a lot of water! No wonder some roads are flooded.

More Rain Coming Soon

The weather office (IMD) says more big rain is coming in the next two days, especially in Navsari, Valsad, and nearby places like Daman, Dadra, and Nagar Haveli. Other areas like Banaskantha, Bhavnagar, and Sabarkantha might get heavy showers too on July 13. Lighter rain is expected in other places. The IMD says a strong weather system is causing all this rain, so it could get messy.

More rain on the way? I hope everyone’s ready, because it sounds like a big storm!

How Gujarat’s Keeping People Safe

The Gujarat government is working hard to keep everyone safe. They’ve told areas like Banaskantha, Bhavnagar, and Gir Somnath, which flood easily, to be extra careful. The SEOC is checking water levels in low areas to stop floods. Emergency teams are ready in risky spots, and local leaders are working with water, land, and health teams to be prepared. They’re telling farmers and people to listen to weather updates. Disaster teams, like the NDRF, are waiting in case things get bad.

Gujarat’s like a superhero getting ready for rain! It’s great they’re keeping everyone safe.

Good and Bad of the Rain

The rain is good for farmers because it fills up water for crops, especially now when they’re planting. But it’s also causing problems, like water flooding streets in Palanpur and other places. Low areas could get flooded, which might mess up homes or roads. Gujarat’s had tons of rain this year—161% more in June than usual, the second-highest in 125 years! The government’s quick work, like watching water levels and having teams ready, is super important to stop bigger problems.

Rain’s awesome for crops, but floods are no fun! I hope they keep the flooding under control.

What People Can Do

The government says everyone can help by:

  • Checking weather news: Listen to the IMD or TV for rain updates.

  • Avoiding water: Don’t walk or drive in flooded streets.

  • Being ready: If you live in a low area, listen if officials say to move.

  • Staying safe: Keep food and water ready in case floods happen.

They also said don’t share fake news. Only trust official updates from the SEOC or IMD to stay calm and know the truth.

Listening to weather news is so easy! I’ll make sure I’m ready if it rains a lot.

Why This Is a Big Deal

This heavy rain hitting 105 talukas shows how strong the 2025 monsoon is in Gujarat. Places like Banaskantha and Bhavnagar got soaked, and more rain’s coming. The government’s doing a great job by watching water levels and keeping emergency teams ready. The rain helps farmers but can cause floods, so everyone needs to be careful. An X post from @NewsCapitalGJ said 121 talukas got rain, with Dantiwada at 6.3 inches, showing how big this is. Gujarat’s handling it, but they’re watching closely to keep everyone safe.

This rain is huge! It’s helping crops but making floods too. What do you think about all this rain? Tell me!
