The longest trips of 2,501-3,000 km will cost ₹15 more. These small increases help the Indian Railways earn more money while keeping travel affordable.
Sleeper class and first class tickets will cost half paisa more per kilometer. AC train tickets will be 2 paisa more per km. These changes apply to all major trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Vande Bharat. However, local train tickets and season passes will not cost more. Other charges like booking fees and GST stay the same.
The Railways wants to make sure poor people can still afford train travel. That’s why ordinary class tickets for short trips won’t cost more. People who buy tickets before July 1 can travel at old prices. The Railways is updating all ticket machines and station boards to show new prices.
