From July 16-19, 2025, four Indian Navy ships—INS Delhi, INS Shakti, INS Satpura, and INS Kiltan—went to Singapore. They were led by Rear Admiral Susheel Menon. The trip was to get closer with Singapore’s navy (RSN) and work together in the Indo-Pacific area.
Four big ships in Singapore? That’s so cool! They’re making buddies!
Meetings and Respect
Susheel Menon met India’s top person in Singapore, Shilpak Ambule, and the head of Singapore’s navy. They talked about being better pals. The Indian Navy also did a special ceremony at the Kranji War Memorial to remember Indian soldiers who died in World War II.
Remembering heroes? That’s such a nice thing to do!
Fun Stuff Together
Over the four days, the navies:
-
Checked out each other’s ships.
-
Shared ideas about navy work.
-
Played fun sports games.
These things helped them become friends and trust each other. They had a big party on INS Shakti with Singapore navy people, Indian folks, and special guests to celebrate being pals.
Sports and a party on a ship? That sounds super fun!
Why This Trip Matters
This visit is part of India’s plan called SAGAR to keep the Indo-Pacific safe and friendly. It shows India’s navy is working hard to make the area peaceful. An X post from @IndianNavy said, “Our ships in Singapore make us better friends with RSN!” It’s like how PM Modi’s visits to places like the UK and Maldives help India make friends.
India and Singapore navies teaming up? That’s awesome for keeping the seas safe!
The Big Picture
This trip shows India wants to be a big helper in the Indo-Pacific. Teaming up with Singapore’s navy lets them share ideas and keep peace. The ceremony and fun events show they respect each other. With India doing cool things like UPI and big investments, this navy visit makes India look strong. What do you think about the navy going to Singapore? Tell me!
