A fireworks building in Esparto, a small town in Yolo County, California, exploded and started a big fire. The loud blast scared many people, shut down roads, and brought firefighters and helpers to the area.

The explosion happened on Tuesday evening. Some people thought it was a plane crash. It caused lights to go out and sent a huge cloud of black smoke into the sky. People could see the smoke from far away, even in nearby Solano County, local news said.

Firefighters rushed to the spot just before 6 PM. The fire started on County Road 23. The explosion was at a place that keeps and handles fireworks. The flames grew fast, and workers worried about more blasts or fires spreading to nearby grass and trees.

People posted videos and pictures online. They showed thick, dark smoke coming out of the building and covering the area. People nearby heard big bangs and had short power outages in their homes.

The Yolo County emergency team said the fireworks building caused the problem. They got lots of calls from people hearing many explosions. Workers are trying to figure out why the blast happened, but they don’t know yet.

Cal Fire shared on X, “Firefighters are helping Yolo County with a fire at a business that spread to nearby fields near Highway 16 and Oakdale Ranch Lane in Esparto. Cal Fire sent planes and ground teams to help.”

No one knows if anyone got hurt yet. Teams are watching the area for more fires and checking the damage. They closed many streets around the site to keep people safe and let firefighters move easily. Officials told everyone to stay away from the area to avoid danger.
