On June 29, 2025, the New Delhi Film Foundation (NDFF) started a fun event called Talk Cinema On The Floor at the Sri Aurobindo Centre in New Delhi. It brings filmmakers, actors, writers, and others together to talk and make movies. The event, held with the Media & Entertainment Skills Council (MESC) and SACAC, had two cool parts: Craft & Crew and Spotlight.

This sounds so awesome! Getting all these movie people in one place? It must’ve been full of fun ideas!

Cool Talks

In Craft & Crew, Dr. Vikas Singh, a film teacher from Delhi University, shared movie-making tips from his work with Yash Raj Films, a big movie company. In Spotlight, Pawan K. Shrivastava, a filmmaker, talked about his movies Naya Pata and Life of an Outcast. Naya Pata was special as Bihar’s first crowdfunded film.

Those speakers sound so cool! Learning from a pro like Dr. Singh and hearing about a crowdfunded movie is super exciting.

New Movie Plan

NDFF announced their Make Cinema plan to make six short films in the next six months. Ashish K. Singh, NDFF’s founder, said this will give new filmmakers and writers a chance to shine.

Six new movies? That’s so fun! I can’t wait to see what they make. It’s awesome for new people to get a shot!

Sharing Ideas

A fun part was Take The Floor: The 5-Minute Window, where young filmmakers got to share their talents or movie ideas. Actor Pankaj Kataria, from the hit show Paatal Lok, was there too. Lots of young people pitched their short film ideas to team up with others.

That 5-minute pitch sounds so neat! Sharing your movie idea in front of everyone? And with Pankaj there? So cool!

Fun Extras

Vaibhav Maitreya, NDFF’s branding boss, said the event will keep going on its own. There was also a display of old Hindi movie posters by Ashok Kumar Kashyap. It showed classic films and honored legends Gru Dutt and Raj Kapoor for their 100th birthdays.

Old movie posters? That’s so fun! It’s like going back in time, and celebrating Gru Dutt and Raj Kapoor is super special.

Why This Is Awesome

Talk Cinema On The Floor is great because it helps movie people meet, share ideas, and start new projects. With pro talks, a new movie plan, and young people pitching, it’s a big boost for Delhi’s film world. The poster display added a fun touch of history. NDFF’s event shows their love for movies and helping new talent.

This event is a dream for movie lovers! I’m so excited for the new films and all the fun vibes. Do you love movies? What do you think about this? Tell me!
