Famous actress Charlize Theron says Hollywood treats men and women differently in action movies. She has starred in many action films like Mad Max: Fury Road and Atomic Blonde. Theron won an Oscar, but she still sees problems in the movie business.

Theron told a newspaper that studios don’t give women the same chances as men. “It’s much harder for women,” she said. “If a man makes a bad action movie, he gets more chances. But if a woman’s action movie doesn’t do well, she might not work again in this type of movie.”

She explained that movie companies keep hiring the same men for action roles even when their movies fail. “They’ll try again with a man who had many unsuccessful action films,” Theron said. “But they won’t do this for women.”

Right now, Theron is acting in The Old Guard 2 on Netflix. She has done action movies for many years, starting with Aeon Flux in 2005. Doing these movies has hurt her body a lot.

Theron shared that she has had many injuries from making action films. Her first bad injury happened while making Aeon Flux. “I hurt my neck doing a flip on a hard surface,” she said. Since then, she has needed surgery on her neck, elbows, shoulder, and hands. She has broken many bones too.

Even with all these problems, Theron keeps acting in action movies. She wants to show that women can be strong action stars too. She hopes Hollywood will start treating women the same as men. Theron believes women should get as many chances as men to star in action films, even if some movies don’t do well at first.

The actress says she loves doing action movies, but she wishes the movie business would change. She wants to see more women getting good action roles and having the same opportunities as men. Theron’s own career shows that women can be successful action stars when they get the chance.
