Born on 13 October 1990, Pooja Hegde grew up in Mumbai, Maharashtra, in a Tulu-speaking Bunt family. Her parents, Manjunath Hegde (a criminal lawyer) and Latha Hegde (a former immunologist and entrepreneur), originally hail from Udupi, Karnataka. Alongside her elder brother, Rishabh Hegde, an orthopedic surgeon, Pooja was raised in a family that valued education and cultural heritage.
